What is Art Safari Camp?

Art Safari camp is an age appropriate day camp designed to provide children who love arts activities a safe, exciting and creative atmosphere in which to enjoy their summer break. Campers will learn techniques in drawing, painting, printmaking, mixed media, sculpture and theatre. They will learn about new cultures and art history. Campers will take part in the process of creating the puppets, props and scenery for a end of week performance and art show for family and friends.  Daily outdoor time will be included with opportunities to make the most of Fernie's beautiful surroundings.

In operation since 2005, Art Safari Camp is run by Director Barbara (Pepper) Couëlle-Sterling and Denise Baughan. Qualified instructors and teachers with degrees specific to art history and theatre, Pepper and Denise limit the camp size to a maximum of 15 campers. This small group size allows for intimate instruction and more hands on for larger projects. Our goal is to provide a learning opportunity while creating art and performances that the children can be proud of.
